Abstract Use of Color

I took these images this past weekend while attending a Modest Mouse concert. The first is a shot of the inside of the concert and the other I took while hanging out in the parking lot pre show.

Admirable Rejection

Here is a sample of some of my self portraits in abandoned places. Most of these images were taken on the CT Shore. One was taken on Long Island's South Shore.

Francesca Woodman

For a while now I have had a keen interest in decay and abandonment. It has become one of my favorite subjects to photograph. This past year I was exposed to the work of Francesca Woodman, a young photographer in the 1970's who photographed herself in abandoned places. I fell in love with her work and had a revelation of sorts. I decided I wanted to make images like hers, and since my journey of self portraits in abandoned buildings began. These images are all by Francesca, and they continue to be an inspiration everyday.

Composites

These are two composites that I created a few months ago. The poses in these images were based on poses in a boroque painting called Susanna and the Elders by Artemisia Gentileschi. The images were taken in East Haddam, CT.
